Camso Emporia manufacturing sites integrated into Michelin network

Two manufacturing sites in Emporia, Kansas, have joined the Michelin manufacturing network, bringing Michelin’s total North American footprint to 34 plants in the USA and Canada with a total of 22,500 employees.

One of the manufacturing facilities, which was acquired by Camso in 2002, is responsible for the production of agricultural tracks and wheels, and originally had one track and 50 employees. Following gradual company investments, the site has grown and now features a remanufacturing plant, an increased production capacity and 300 employees between the two facilities. Since 2020, Michelin has spent US$6.5m on further expansion and upgrades.

In 2018 Michelin and Camso partnered to strengthen its global leadership position in specialty business. Michelin’s North American industrial plants manufacture tires for earthmovers, airplanes and vehicles, while Camso is known for producing off-road tires, rubber tracks and systems for the material handling, construction agriculture and powersports sectors.

“We are so excited to be able to celebrate the Camso Emporia community’s inclusion into the larger Michelin network today,” said Jason Davis, manufacturing director for Michelin North America’s Beyond Road manufacturing plants. “The growth and the journey of these facilities have made it an especially exciting couple of years and we’re proud of our role in continuing to feed the world.”
